Description :
La villine est une protéine liant l’actine, spécifiquement exprimée dans la bordure en brosse de l’épithélium muqueux gastro-intestinal et dans les microvillosités des tubules proximaux rénaux.
L’anticorps anti-Villin présente une valeur diagnostique différentielle importante : son marquage caractéristique de la bordure en brosse permet de différencier efficacement les adénocarcinomes gastro-intestinaux (fortement positifs), les carcinomes neuroendocrines et les adénocarcinomes ovariens des adénocarcinomes d’autres origines.
Il marque également les cellules de Merkel cutanées.
